Ballasting

Friday 13th June, West of Wensley

Loading the ballast at Redmire, Mike makes a start

Mike was too slow so we got the machine on the job

The train is loaded and ready to go

The train was moved up near Wensley, the ballast was then dropped as the train crept forward

That will keep the rabbits off!

Saturday 7th June, West of Leyburn

Spot resleepering taking place just west of Leyburn station

Friday 23rd May, Bedale Station

The Friday night team start work on digging out the old sleepers

Work moves swiftly, the Friday night team is mix of Ops and Infrastructure members working together.

15 Sleepers later and the Friday night team became the Saturday morning team!

Level crossing deck replacement

Saturday 17th May, Finghall Crossing

The time had come for new timbers to be laid at Finghall

The old timbers were removed, some proved more difficult than others

The trackbed was cleared of mud and a layer of new ballast put down

The new timbers are down and the road is reopened

Drainage cleaning

Friday 2nd May,Bridge 29 between Leyburn and Wensley

Works train taken up so JCB can dig out new drainage ditch

Old drains required unblocking
