A sleeper in need of replacement

The old sleeper is removed and the bed is prepared, ready for the new one.

The new sleeper in and packed. 10 sleepers were changed today.

Friday 18th July through till Saturday 19th

The Friday night gang spent a good 12 hrs replacing a total of 31 sleepers, in order to increase line speed on a particular section of track.

Work started at 18:00hrs, at 18:03 Adrian is seen here full of enthusiasm

In the early hours, the pace had started to slow but an end was in sight.

All done and heading back towards Leeming at 8:00 on Saturday morning
