Track Inspection and drainage clearance

Sunday 7th, Wensley - Redmire

After the recent heavy rain an inspection of some of the worst affected areas was taken

Blocked drains lead to ballast being washed away and the sleepers sitting in the water

Excess amounts of ballast being washed away had meant the line was closed beyond Leyburn

Some ballast was tipped and the track jacked and packed. Some drainage clearance also took place in this area

The Wickham trolley was used for today's work, for more pictures of this machine look in the trains and rolling stock part of the gallery
