September 3rd, North Wootton
Over the last few days a number volunteers have been working at North Wootton, near Kings Lynn, preparing for the move of a retired signal box. The photos that follow show the box in its final stages before being lifted and how the lift was performed. By the time you are looking at these the signal box will have already made its 162 mile trip to Leeming Bar, Enjoy...

The crane is set up ready.

All the woodwork was numbered and carefully removed.

Cutting one of the many panels that required removing.

Removing the steps.

All steps gone.

The crane takes the strain before the box is cut.

Cutting one of the four main weight bearing struts.

Looks slightly weird.

Its still in one piece.

Precision landing.

A few remaining bits to collect.

The box loaded and ready to go. Doesn't Dave look happy!
